I never knew any Minimus but I thought this was hilarious: "We had to have an emergency meeting as to his qualifications"
Amazing what they focus on.
i knew of a ministerial servant that was called out because he used fire crackers on the 4 th of july.
we had to have an emergency meeting as to his qualifications.
i remember imploring the body to not make a big issue over this and it was decided to just “counsel” him about being involved in a patriotic holiday.🤨.
anyone any idea if there have been any repercussions over whiskygate and if anthony morris was ushered into the backroom after a meeting?
i am pretty sure if this had been a member of the r&f and the video was all over the internet, something would have been said about being careful not to bring jah's organization into disrepute.
i am sure the local elders in the congregation he is assigned to wouldn't have the balls to do it and there would have to be a mole pretty high up to find out if the gb got involved.. we can but speculate i guess..
I don't see where this would be a big deal to witnesses. Drinking, even heavy drinking has been a part of Watchtower history going back at least to Rutherford. It was totally acceptable when I was a Jdub. We had a person in our congregation who was a respected member of the "anointed". He liked brandy so every so often I'd buy him a bottle. When I went to dinner with witnesses we'd order drinks. Sometime I'd meet other Jdubs in restaurant lounges for drinks. If anything being seen buying alcohol might increase his status. At least with type of witnesses I hung around with.
i think every congregation has their group that sees everything as a sign that they are god’s chosen people.
if a witness didn’t go to a meeting and a storm came and destroyed their house and killed them, and only the kingdom hall was saved, that was a sign that we should be in jehovah’s house.
if russia persecuted jws , it’s proof we are living in the last days.

like in christ is ours.
add this to liberry pronounciation and aks.
had to laugh at this.
this may be what the wbts end up doing in the future as they become televangelist.
.
Who knows? Maybe Lett is a test run. On the other hand Copeland has a wild-eyed creepy insane way about him. I also get that creepy vibe from Stephen Lett. If Lett ever decides to leave Watchtower he could slink right over into the lucrative world of televangelism. His schtick could be: Former Jehovah's Witness GB leader who was touched by Jesus and now wants to touch you. Maybe him and Copeland could team up and do a tag team on the wallets of the gullible.
in the old testament, god was always full of anger and jealousy resulting in the murder of millions of people.
we’re told jesus perfectly reflects his fathers qualities.
why in the new testament does jesus show no hint of anger and jealousy and wanting to kill people?
When I first left the JWs around 1980 there was no internet. Most of the help and information you got came from Christian sources so I think a lot of people that left the Jehovah's Witnesses back then went that way including myself even though I couldn't buy into many of the fundie beliefs. I couldn't believe in things like hell, the anti gay crap, the end times nonsense (which I had had enough of as a JW) to name a few. Nowadays with the internet it is much easier to get help and information when you are leaving the JWs without any religious ideas attached to it. When you go online to investigate the Watchtower now you find that many of the sources you come across are also critical of the Bible and religion in general and make valid points.
